Out of the box I was able to hook it up to 802.11n and a hardwire connection. The first night I downloaded a firmware update. All worked well that night. The next day, the unit locked up after turning it on for 30 seconds. After another 30 seconds, the unit turned itself off. This happened under any function ... consistently. I called LG support and spoke to a tech rep. We troubleshooted it with me over th ephone and he said it was a defective unit and needed to be returned to LG - I would get it back after 3 to 4 weeks. I replaced a 26" Vizio 720p LCD with this. The features that really drove me to this TV is the LED backlighting and the 120Hz processing. This TV has a stunning picture quality with some of the deepest blacks and great color. The 120Hz TruMotion has really gotten me though. It makes everything much more realistic, almost to a point to being scary sometimes. Watching Blu-rays with the TruMotion on the highest setting almost takes you out of the movie. Overall I like the TV very much and I think the value proposition is excellent. My local Bestbuy had this TV on display. I have three recommendations for people who are not technically inclined - like myself - and get this TV to utilize the TV's full potential:1. Make sure you use an HDMI cable to connect this TV to your cable box. You need to make sure that your HDMI cable is at least version 1.3. 2. Get HD cable or satellite. Having HD channels makes a huge difference.3. Make sure your cable box is set at 1080p output signal. Our cable box was set at a much lower picture quality and it took me a while to figure this out.
